Welcome to the wild West! Once a bustling Mining town in the 1880's, Cave Creek is rich with history. Remnants from two ancient civilizations can be found from pottery shards, arrows, and petroglyphs.
The town's northern border is the Tonto National Forest with almost 3 million acres of some of the most scenic hiking and horseback riding trails in the country! Enjoy creeks, swimming holes, water falls (seasonal), mountains and valleys! All at the towns back door.
The town harbors its own treasures right in its boundaries! Spur Cross Ranch is comprised of 1600 acres of unrivaled beauty! Once slated as a golf course with upscale homes, the citizens got together and found a way to preserve this magnificent land which houses remnants of civilizations past. There has even been a Big Horn Sheep siting in the park. Cave Creek residence include deer, mountain lions, bob cats, javelinas, and many other desert dwellers.

The Cave Creek Recreational Park, Go John Canyon and a special hidden trail up Black Mountain are enjoyed by those of us lucky enough to spend time here. Cave Creek enjoys a rural feel, horses are king, and he zoning is mostly 1 house per 5 acres. Population in 2006 was 4615. Elevation is approximately 2300. Estimated about 15 degrees cooler in the summer evenings than down town Phoenix. Snow can be enjoyed on the tops of the mountains occasionally after winter storms.
Panoramic mountain views, brilliant sunsets, starry nights..... A currnent land plan and annexation will enable the town to have 40% of its land preserved and 55% open space.
